For this episode, I sat down (via zoom) with Dave Inder Comar to speak about Human Rights Pulse. In our capacity as co-founders, we thought it would be a great idea to have a conversation about how Human Rights Pulse started, how it is all set-up, and where we see it going. We also answered questions about the project submitted via social media.
In summary, Inder and I started brainstorming about the project in Summer 2019 and after getting a small team together (joined by Ariana Smith and Vaughn Rajah), we finalised the initial elements of the platform. The website went live at the end of December 2019.
Six months later, we have published over 200 articles from writers all over the world; we have an 11-person core team—all dedicated volunteers; we have established a steadily growing social media presence; and we started a Human Rights Pulse podcast. We have plans for many more exciting projects under the Human Rights Pulse umbrella, too!
